Solar subsidies in the Jura in 2026: what the Confederation pays, what the canton does not
4 August 2026 · SOLARSPLIT
The canton of Jura’s web page on “support for small photovoltaic installations” misleads more than one reader: it describes the federal one-off remuneration, with amounts from another era, and not a cantonal grant. In 2026, the Jura Buildings Programme contains no photovoltaic measure. Here is what a Jura homeowner actually receives, and from where.
The base, and the only direct payment: Pronovo
The Confederation pays, after commissioning, 360 francs per kWp up to 30 kWp and 300 francs per kWp above that, for an installation added to an existing roof. The basic contribution of 200 francs only remains under 5 kW. For a house with 10 kWp, around 3’600 francs. Roof-integrated, steeply tilted or high-altitude installations receive bonuses, which is of interest in the Franches-Montagnes.
Do not rely on the “300 to 520 francs per kW” or the “basic contribution of 1’400 to 1’600 francs” read on some pages: those are old scales. The rates are set every year by the Confederation, and only Pronovo’s rate calculator gives the amount applicable to your file. The application is submitted after grid connection, with proof of commissioning, generally by the installer.
What the canton supports
The Jura Buildings Programme finances insulation and heating replacement: 2’500 francs plus 100 francs per thermal kW for an air-to-water heat pump, 4’500 francs plus 200 francs per kW for a geothermal probe, on an application submitted before the works. A project combining a heat pump and solar therefore receives the canton for one and the Confederation for the other.
The canton also runs a support programme for citizen-owned photovoltaic installations and large projects, outside the scope of the single-family house. For the villa, direct support is federal, full stop.

The tax deduction, the second support
On an existing building, the net cost of the installation, one-off remuneration deducted, is taken off taxable income as maintenance expenses in the year of payment. In the Jura as elsewhere, it is often support comparable to Pronovo, and it is worth planning the invoice with your accountant.
The Jura context that matters
The Jura has the most debated feed-in tariff in French-speaking Switzerland since the national price started following the market: the legal floor of 6 centimes under 30 kW protects the small producer, and self-consumption remains the real lever. On a well-oriented Jura roof, what decides profitability is the size of the installation relative to consumption and the way you consume during sunny hours, not a subsidy that does not exist.
The order of the steps
- Heating grant or any municipal grant: application approved before the works.
- Pronovo after commissioning, with the grid connection certificate.
- Net invoice in the tax return for the year of payment.
SOLARSPLIT’s free online study calculates the one-off remuneration and the expected production for your Jura roof, then puts installers in competition on an identical specification, with a neutral adviser to read the offers.
